Cookie Policy

Last updated: 30 May 2026

This page explains how OddsIQ uses cookies and similar technologies.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help sites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you use the site.

2. What cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies

  • Authentication tokens: keep you signed in to your account
  • Cookie preference (oddsiq_cookie_consent): remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. Set regardless of your choice — it IS the consent record. Duration: persists until you clear it.
  • Session state: remembers your navigation choices during a session (e.g. sidebar open/closed)

These are required for the service to function. You can disable them, but the site will not work correctly.

Functional storage

  • Analysis usage (oddsiq_analysis_usage): tracks how many free AI analyses you've viewed in the current period. Used to enforce the free-tier limit.
  • PWA install prompt (pwa_match_views, pwa_install_dismissed): controls when and whether the "Add to Home Screen" prompt appears. No data leaves your device.

These are set regardless of your cookie choice. They contain no personal data and are not sent to any server.

Analytics cookies

We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) and Google Analytics 4 for product analytics. When you accept analytics cookies, the following are stored on your device:

CookiePurposeDuration
ph_* (PostHog)Anonymous user identification, session tracking12 months
_ga (Google Analytics)Distinguishes unique visitors2 years
_ga_* (Google Analytics)Maintains session state2 years

Analytics cookies are only set after you click "Accept all" on our cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only", no analytics cookies are set.

We do NOT use:

  • Advertising cookies (we don't show ads)
  • Cross-site tracking cookies
  • Third-party marketing cookies

3. Third-party cookies

When you sign in with Google, Google sets its own cookies. See Google's privacy policy for details.

When you click on social media share buttons, the respective platform may set cookies once you arrive on their site.

4. Managing your cookie preferences

You can withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time. Use the Clear cookie preference button below this page. Clicking it immediately stops analytics tracking, removes all PostHog and Google Analytics data from your device, and reloads the page. The cookie banner will re-appear, letting you make a fresh choice.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings — see your browser's help pages for instructions: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

5. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our cookie practices change.
